Factors of Knowledge Management in Banking Sector of Pakistan

Abstract
Managing Knowledge gain incredible importance in research and industry over the past several years and promoted as essential factor for organizational survival and gaining and sustaining competitive edge. This research study effectively underlines those decisive rudiments which have an influential impact on management of knowledge within the banks operating in Pakistan. The foremost intent of this paper is to exploration of that factors which enabling banks in proper knowledge management. A self directed questionnaire was designed and used to collect data from banks operating in public and private sector. As a sample, 275 questionnaires were distributed, of which 200 responses were used for analysis. The factors selected for research study were leadership, culture and information technology. Empirical evidence was calculated through stepwise regression analysis, Pearson correlation and descriptive statistics to support theoretical model. Results revealed that banking sector is like a house of knowledge where no one feels hesitation in sharing their knowledge with their co-workers. The study also concludes that leaders are the main stream to support knowledge flow in the banks.
